Napuštene životinje velik su problem današnjeg društva. Iako neki smatraju kako je to problem isključivo velikih gradova, činjenica je kako i u našem gradu ima napuštenih životinja.  Nažalost, svakodnevno na ulici susrećemo i pse lutalice, a mnogobrojne mačke oko zgrada postaju uobičajna pojava.  Mnogi ljudi svoje životinje napuštaju zbog teške financijske situacije. Istina, cijepiva i hrana vrlo su skupi, no to nikako nije opravdanje za takve postupke, unatoč tomu što neki ljudi svoje nekadašnje mezimce ostavljaju na mjestima za koje su sigurni da će ih netko pronaći i hraniti. Što učiniti? Prije svega,  jednom kada odlučite da želite ljubimca zapitajte se jeste li spremni na obavezu koja dolazi sa njim. Tog psa ili mačku morate hraniti, šetati i brinuti se o njegovom zdravlju. Također, nemojte zaboraviti kako vaš ljubimac osim hrane treba i vašu pažnju pa ne dopustite da vam nakon nekog vremena postane smetnja. Ako se dobro brinete za svog ljubimca, a ipak želite učiniti više, postoji rješenje.
